When Hypocrisy Reigns

Chapter 20 informs us of Israel’s civil war with the Benjamites. The Israelites lose forty thousand soldiers in battle. Only then they start to seek the Lord. Chapter 21 informs us of how the people provided wives for the remaining Benjamites. This ending of the time of the Judges seals the capstone of the sad commentary that men did that which was right in their own eyes.
